Implementation of the Guidelines

Activities

Implementation of the Guidelines

This will be achieved through a series of Pilot Projects in each of the countries represented by the main co-organisers (Romania, Hungary, Serbia (Kosovo), Croatia and Albania). It will not be possible to assess all historic buildings within each country, and therefore an assessment of 100 buildings will be undertaken within each country to provide a reasonable sample of the state of the heritage, within an area to be defined by the co-organisers. This will involve co-operation between local and international experts, students from architectural universities, international heritage associations (e.g. ICOMOS), local authorities and NGO’s.

The main Co-organiser from within each country will lead this aspect under the guidance of the full controlling group. It will involve a high level of cross-border co-operation between participants, sharing the full pool of expertise which will be established within the networks which will be formed within the region. The pilot projects will involve the preparation of a Register of Heritage at Risk for each country
